Sri Lankan Churches Under Heavy Security - Important Announcement to the Public

 


The Director of Public Relations for the Archbishop of Colombo, Most Rev. Jude Grishantha, has appealed to Catholic devotees and the public attending church services for Christmas celebrations tomorrow to participate without fear or suspicion.


Speaking to the media today (24), Most Rev. Grishantha stated that a comprehensive security plan has been implemented with the participation of police and military personnel at churches and places of worship throughout the country.


Bishops from the Colombo Diocese and other dioceses are conducting divine services in their respective churches, and midnight services are being celebrated with great joy and pomp in Catholic churches throughout the country, said Most Rev. Grishantha.


He further assured the public about the security arrangements, saying, "The police and security forces have ensured a robust security plan, especially for night services in churches, so that devotees can attend divine worship with joy and peace."
