Pakistan to buy 40 fighter jets from China

Pakistan is planning to buy 40 fighter jets from China.

According to reports, the government led by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is planning to buy 40 of China's new J-35 stealth fighter jets.

J-35 aircraft and its significance

The J-35, previously known as the J-31, is a land-based stealth aircraft.

China is the only country to have developed this type of stealth aircraft, and if the deal goes through, it will be the first time that the J-35 aircraft has been exported to another country.

Pakistan Air Force's plan

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is planning to buy these J-35 aircraft to replace the aging F-16 and Mirage fighter jets from the United States.

Earlier this year, Pakistan Air Force Chief Marshal Zahir Ahmed Babar Sidhu had said, "The foundation has been laid for acquiring the J-31 stealth aircraft."

China-Pakistan Partnership

The J-35 aircraft was displayed at a recent air show in Zhuhai, China, attended by senior Pakistani Air Force officials, which has generated a lot of buzz about the deal.

China and Pakistan have a strong military partnership, and China's support has improved the security capabilities of all branches of Pakistan's military.

In this context, by acquiring the J-35 aircraft, Pakistan plans to strengthen its air force capabilities.
