Low pressure area approaching Tamil Nadu.., Cyclone warning raised at 7 ports



The low pressure area over the central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened and become a deep depression.


It weakened further as a low pressure area yesterday and is prevailing over the central and west Bay of Bengal.


It is expected to move towards the Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu coast tomorrow, and heavy rain is likely in some areas as the deep depression moves towards the coast.


Accordingly, moderate to heavy rain will fall in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts on the 25th and 26th.


Meteorologists say that there is a possibility of moderate rain in Villupuram, Cuddalore and Puducherry.


Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain in Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur and Karaikal, as well as in southern districts including Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi on the 25th.



Furthermore, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain on the 26th and 27th.


In this situation, Cyclone Warning Cage No. 3 has been hoisted at 7 ports.



Accordingly, Cyclone Warning Cage has been hoisted at Chennai, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ennore, Kattupalli, Puducherry and Karaikal ports.
