A bus in Punjab has fallen into a canal, killing up to 8 people.

A private bus going from Sardulgarh to Bathinda in Punjab fell off a bridge in a village called Jiwan Singh Wala and plunged into a canal, killing 8 people.


18 more people were seriously injured in this tragic incident.


The Bathinda Police X-reported the accident, saying, "A private bus going from Sardulgarh to Bathinda fell into a canal and met with an accident.


Following this, the police, led by the Deputy Commissioner of the city, visited the accident site and assessed the situation. Rescue operations were immediately started with the help of local volunteers.


The National Disaster Response Force was also called in."


Immediate help from villagers

Immediately after the accident, villagers rushed to the spot and started rescue operations, saving most of the lives.


It was raining when the accident happened and district officials said that an investigation will be conducted into the cause of the accident.
