Google Drive has added a new dimension to its Android mobile scanning capabilities with a new automatic “enhancement” feature.
This tool simplifies the process of creating clear, high-quality scans of documents, receipts, and ID cards directly from your phone.
How does it work?
After capturing an image using the built-in scanner, users will see an “enhance” option on the preview screen.
This powerful feature automatically applies a variety of enhancements, including white balance correction, shadow removal, contrast enhancement, auto sharpening, and lighting enhancement.
These adjustments work together to create a polished, professional-looking scan.
Users can also choose to save their scans as JPEG files or apply black and white filters.
This “upgrade” feature is gradually rolling out to all users, including Google Workspace customers, Workspace Personal subscribers, and personal Google account holders.
To access the new functionality, users need to make sure they have the latest version of the Google Drive app installed on their Android devices.
