Israel uses US THAAD missile interceptor: Houthi attack thwarted

Israel has successfully intercepted a missile launched by Houthi rebels.

The interception was reportedly carried out by the US-made Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system.

While the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has not officially confirmed the use of THAAD, reports from Israeli media outlets and widely shared social media videos strongly suggest its involvement.

The THAAD system was installed in Israel by the US in October and is designed to intercept missiles at a final stage.

It is capable of detecting and intercepting threats from a range of 870 to 3,000 kilometers.
