A probe has been ordered against Google following a complaint by popular gaming company Winzo.
Complaint against Google
Based on a complaint filed by popular gaming company Winzo, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ordered an investigation into Google's activities.
Winzo has accused Google of violating the trustworthiness rule in the online gaming industry.
Specifically, Winzo has complained that the Winzo app is being restricted in the paid online gaming apps listed on the Google Play Store and that unfounded warnings about the Winzo app are being displayed on Android mobile phones.
This has severely damaged the company's reputation and caused huge losses, it said.
Investigation committee formation
Based on the complaint, CCI has formed a 3-member committee headed by President Ravneet Kaur and ordered an investigation into Google.
It is noteworthy that this committee has to submit its investigation report to the CCI within 60 days.
