A Dutchman who attacked a Russian police officer has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.

A Dutchman named Harry Johannes van Hurten lived in Russia.

He and a Russian police officer had an argument last October.


Harry had broken a sign for a traffic signal. When the officer questioned him, Harry pushed him down.


Prison sentence



Harry, who was also arrested for punching him in the face, was placed under house arrest in Moscow.


After his trial, a Russian court sentenced him to 3 years in prison.


The ruling is said to be a problem in relations between Russia and the Netherlands.
