This low-pressure area will strengthen in the next two days and move towards the western and northwestern coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Due to this, widespread rain is expected in various places in Tamil Nadu until the 22nd.


Accordingly, today (December 17) heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places in Puducherry, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai districts, and heavy rain is likely to occur in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Karaikal districts.


Similarly, tomorrow (December 18) heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, and Villupuram districts, Heavy to very heavy rain is likely in Puducherry, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Vellore, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai districts and one or two heavy rains in Karaikal.


The day after tomorrow (December 19), heavy rain is likely in one or two places in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts.
