In reality, what is DOGE? Musk and Ramaswamy are in charge of Trump's Department of Government Efficiency.

If Elon Musk's DOGE determines that some employees are a "massive waste," it will offer advice on how to dismantle federal agencies.

Elon Musk and venture entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency in Donald Trump's second term, the president declared.

Operating "outside of government," Musk's new office will provide advice on dismantling governmental agencies and identifying employees who should be let go if it determines they are a "massive waste."

Trump promised that Musk and Ramaswamy "will pave the way for my Administration to restructure Federal Agencies, cut wasteful expenditures, slash excess regulations, and dismantle Government Bureaucracy."

Elon Musk has threatened to shut down the government waste system, threatening those involved.

The Department of Energy (DOGE), a department he favors, will be an advisory board providing guidance outside the government. Trump announced the department's completion by July 4, 2026, 18 months after Trump's election. Details about DOGE remain scarce.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk plans to cut at least $2 trillion from the US budget, a one-third reduction from the current $2 trillion.

He claims that American taxpayers are spending $20,000 on drag shows in Ecuador, $750,000 on fire alarms at the New York Metropolitan Opera House, and $350,000 on AI smart toilets.

The exact size and number of employees will remain unknown.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has expressed his willingness to serve in the government, announcing his intention to create a "Department of Government Efficiency" in an AI-generated image.

Musk warned that if Trump were reelected, their economic plans would likely cause temporary hardship for Americans. He prayed for a victory to take up the role of slashing federal spending, stating that reducing spending would help live within one's means and ensure long-term prosperity.

Musk's companies hold billions in government contracts, and he believes that a victory would allow him to take up this role.

Trump's rally in Madison Square Garden saw Elon Musk stating that the Department of Government Efficiency will address the waste of taxpayer money.

Ramaswamy, who ran a failed campaign against Trump, has previously pledged to fire over 75% of the federal workforce. During his 2023 presidential campaign, Ramaswamy announced plans to shut down the FBI, Department of Education, and the Food and Nutrition Service, hinting at the departments he may cut.
