India's Enforcement Directorate has said that it has found evidence of human trafficking during searches in various cities.
On January 19, 2022, the bodies of Jagdish Patel (39), his wife Vaishali (37), daughter Vihangi (13) and son Dharmik (3) were found lying on the ground while trying to enter the US on foot across the Canada-US border, which shocked many countries.
Following this tragic incident, India's Enforcement Directorate has launched an investigation into the smuggling case.
It is also noteworthy that last month, two men, Steve Shand, a Florida resident, and Harsh Kumar Patel, an Indian citizen, were arrested in Chicago for illegally bringing people into the United States through the Canada-US border.
