A 1000kg World War II bomb has been found in a German city.
3,000 civilians urged to evacuate
Around 3,000 civilians have been urged to evacuate their homes after a 1000kg World War II bomb was found in the German city of Cologne.
The bomb was discovered on Tuesday evening during excavation work in the Sülz area.
This is not the first time such World War II bombs have been found in Cologne.
In 1942, when the British RAF bombed Germany, Cologne was one of the first cities to be hit.
It was common for unexploded bombs to be found during excavation work.
