It has been announced that the program will be implemented until the end of 2025.
China Visa-Free Entry
This move is seen as a major effort to bring China's tourism industry back to the growth path after Corona.
The list of new countries includes Japan and 8 European countries. They are Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia and Latvia.
Japan had made reservations to obtain visa-free entry to China. China has been granting visa-free entry to Japanese since 2003. However, it was suspended in 2020 due to COVID.
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has cited various benefits of the program, including helping with business, tourism, family reunions, cultural exchanges, and reciprocal travel.
