Canada has tightened security checks at its airports for passengers flying to India.
Canada's Transport Minister Anita Anand said the measures were taken out of an abundance of caution.
Air Canada recently announced new security measures for passengers flying to India.
The measures have led to complaints that they are creating longer screening times at airports in British Columbia and Toronto, among others.
Air Canada has advised passengers to arrive at the airport four hours in advance.
Background to the security measures
A bomb threat on an Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago earlier this month forced the plane to divert to Iqaluit, Canada.
No bombs were found during the inspection.
Meanwhile, a Khalistan supporter named Gurbatwant Singh Bannun had threatened to target Air India flights from November 1-19.
Canada-India tensions
The security measures have been taken amid serious problems in India-Canada relations.
Relations between the two countries have been further damaged since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a shocking accusation that the Indian government was involved in the killing of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
In this context, the move, which has tightened security checks, is creating long delays affecting passengers and airline services.
